Updating website
I appreciate all who have visited this site and I am so happy to tell you-- we have decided to upgrade! I hope to make it more pleasant and informative for you.
Please pray for me as I attempt to learn "how to."

My resolve this year is to recommit.
I could not find this word "recommit" in the synonyms. I guess nothing compares to the meaning of that word alone.
You will hear a lot from me about these eight letters and what it can do for us all.
Dee
Celebration 2008
Celebrate!
The Marshall Prayer Force is hosting its seventh annual banquet at the Marshall Civic Center on January 26th.
Celebration 2008 promises to be another wonderful evening of good fun, delicious food, and great fellowship.
Members of the Prayer Force will have an opportunity to meet and talk with the person whom they have been praying for all year. It is always fun to see those whom we have prayed for in the past as well.
This is also a unique time when all Christian churches come together in perfect unity. We are learning about what Jesus meant when He said the world will know we are His disciples because we have love for one another. (As He loves us.)
Time goes faster than we could have imagined even a few years ago. There is one dynamic labor of love which is eternal. That is the joy of those who pray for one another.
If you are not currently a member of the Prayer Force, speak with your pastor or priest about joining us on the 26th.
You will never regret that decision.
I hope to see you there.
Dee
italic text

Once a year we host a luncheon to raise funds for our annual law enforcement and firefighter’s banquet. This banquet we call the Celebration is always held the last Saturday night in January. This date is significant because the Prayer Force was “birthed” in January and this is the time our personal prayer assignments are renewed. At this event the prayer partners may meet the person they have been praying for all year. It is a special time for everyone.
If there are prayer partners or anyone else who would like to sow into this ministry, please know that your donations are tax-deductible and will be used with great consideration.
Our mailing address is Marshall Prayer Force, Inc., Post Office Box 263, Marshall, TX 75671.
Please visit our website at www.marshallprayerforce.com.

Regrets
In my research of this title, I found Webster’s dictionary defines the word regret as “to mourn the loss or death of” or “to miss very much” “to be very sorry for” and “to experience regret”. Instances of well-meaning actions that ultimately brought on regret are listed here:

The Crusade called by Pope Innocent III ,1209-29, against the heretical Cathari of southern France.
This war pitted the nobility of northern France against that of southern France, and it eventually involved the king of France who established his authority over the south. The Crusade ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1229, which took away the independence of the southern princes and largely destroyed the culture of Provence. The Crusade brought devastation and injustice, which Innocent came to regret, but did not destroy the Albigensian heresy (named for its center in the town of Albi, France). The heresy lingered on into the 13th and 14th centuries and became the object of the Inquisition. This regret lingers as a human tragedy.

Another example is the American hero Nathan Hale. However, his remarkable short life is the opposite of the previous model. After graduating from Yale University in 1773, he became a schoolteacher. In 1775 he joined a Connecticut regiment and took part in the siege of Boston. He was promoted to captain in 1776 and helped capture a British provision sailboat on Long Island. Volunteering for spy duty, he penetrated British lines but was captured while returning and hanged without trial the next day. He was only 21. His historic last words were “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.” This regret made him a legend worthy of American pride.

Amazon.com lists 197,346 titles of books with the word regret. There are thousands of poems with this focus and enumerable songs on the subject. Obviously, this is something close to the human heart. Any reasonable person should consider whether the actions he is contemplating will bring rejoicing or regret. This would be the basis for every decision and one of the greatest tools for having a healthy and prosperous life.

I do not know the author, but I keep this quote on my desk as a reminder: “The weight of discipline is much lighter than the load of regret.”

How true it is.
Dee
