What is the Marshall Prayer Force?

We are an interdenominational Christian nonprofit organization.  Our only focus is to pray for and honor those who place their lives on the line in their service to the local public.  We are not a part of any other ministry or organization.  We exist for the Marshall Police Department, Marshall Fire Department, Harrison County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers who give us permission to pray for him or her.

When was the Marshall Prayer Force started?

The Marshall Prayer Force was begun after the tragedies of September 11, 2001.  The ultimate sacrifices of the New York City police and firefighters demonstrated what others throughout the country are ready to do for us all.   Formal organization was in January 2002.

How do I become a member?

Ordinarily, you will have your pastor approve your decision to become a member.  However, if you are a member of a very large congregation, you may be directed to an associate pastor or other designated leader.  He, or she, will then apply online through this website.  He may simply have you and others apply individually.  In order to become a member, you must agree to the following conditions:

(1.)  Commit to pray daily for your assignment as if someone's life could depend on your dedication.

(2.)  Do not attempt to contact the assignment in any manner.  A banquet is set for the end of January each year in order to meet the officer/firefighter.

(3.)  Do not tell anyone the name of your assignment.  Participants are assured the Christians involved will be anonymous for the whole years assignment.

How do I get a prayer assignment?

Participation depends on approval by the founder.  You may download the applicationonline and mail to the address on the document.  When you mail or email your application, within days you should receive your prayer assignment.  That assignment lasts until the end of our fiscal year in January. What else can I do to help?

This ministry can only succeed as the mission and vision succeed through each prayer warrior.  It is also vital that each member of the Prayer Force display the official decal on their rear window.  This shows our solidarity out in public and every policeman and firefighter out on the streets need to see that symbol-- some days more than others.

Are there dues or costs involved?

There is a small charge to become a member because we  host an annual fundraiser each spring to pay the costs incurred for this ministry.  We strongly encourage displaying our red, white, and blue window decal on the rear window of your personal vehicle.  When you are approved, please send a donation of $29.95 for the decal and upcoming banquet ticket (one).  We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and humbly solicit the financial support of area businesses, individual members and others for our support. When is the annual banquet?

The banquet, called Celebration 2010, will be held at the Civic Center on the last Saturday night in January.  That date is January 30, 2010 at 6:30 pm.

May I bring someone with me to the banquet?

Although the banquet is for prayer warriors to meet the person whom they have been praying,  and vice versa, occasionally there will be seating for overflow spectators.  This is completely dependant on our discretion.

1. REGISTER YOUR REQUEST FOR MEMBERSHIP:- this will allow you to submit your profile information to our office for validation and confirmation of acceptance to the Marshall Prayer Force Membership.

2. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR ONLINE ANNUAL PAYMENT ACCOUNT:- Once accepted, you will be asked to proceed to step 2: Payment of your memberhship dues of $29.95 a year. This is paid using our secure PAYPAL account to establish a recurring subscription. This requires a credit card or bank card. 3.LOG IN TO YOUR MEMBERSHIP CENTER There you can access your annual Prayer Assignment, edit your profile, register to use our exclusive MEMBERS ONLY area of our website (which requires a separate email confirmed registration. Then, log into the MEMBERS ONLY WEBSITE for all the content and tools we have for our members.
